Welcome to Bororen State School.
Bororen State School is not just an education institution; it’s a whole community thriving on academic, cultural and sporting achievements and high quality extracurricular opportunities.
'It takes a village to raise a child'—this expression is often
heard and bandied about as a feel good statement. But what does it mean in reality? What could it look like if we all turned that expression from just an expression into an action verb? At Bororen State School you can witness 'it takes a village to raise a child' in action.
Bororen State School community is unique and caring community. Everyone is included regardless of income, ethnicity, background or family situation. Parents and the broader community are valued and considered a very important part of our school community. At Bororen you will witness parents pitching in and helping during working bees, volunteering as parent helpers, helping with reading before school and undertaking other voluntary acts of support and kindness; and the attitude and behaviour of our children reflects the openness and inclusiveness of our parents.
When you visit Bororen State School you will see parents listening to children read, pasting, cutting or returning readers, parents walking and talking with groups of students and, blessedly, leaving a plate of home baking for the staff to sample
at morning tea! We also have families who quietly work behind the scenes to
ensure children do not miss out on sporting events through lack of gear,
families who buy a book for their own child plus a book for another, without
having to know who that other might be. These are just two examples of kindness and care that makes Bororen State School a magical place to work and learn.
