Bororen State School – Student Code of Conduct
At Bororen State School, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and disciplined learning environment where every student has the opportunity to engage in quality learning experiences and develop the values that will support their lifelong wellbeing. At Bororen, we are all Bridge Builders, working together to strengthen relationships, resolve challenges, and create a positive future.
The Bororen State School Student Code of Conduct establishes the high standards of behaviour that allow learning and teaching to flourish. It ensures every student can participate positively, respectfully, and responsibly within our school community.
We recognise that all areas of our school are places of learning. Behaviour management is not just about setting limits, it is a valuable opportunity for social learning, building character, and maximising academic success.
This plan was developed in partnership with our school community. Broad consultation occurred with parents, staff, and students through P&C meetings, Student Council discussions, and staff collaboration throughout 2024 and 2025. Data relating to attendance, absenteeism, school disciplinary absences, and behaviour incidents from 2020 to 2025 also informed the process.
The Student Code of Conduct was formally endorsed by the Principal and the President of the P&C in July 2025 and will be reviewed in 2028.
Our Behaviour Expectations
Our school community has identified three simple, powerful expectations to guide behaviour and learning. These expectations are explicitly taught, modelled, and celebrated across all areas of school life:
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be Safe
These expectations are consistent with the values, principles, and standards of the Queensland Department of Education's Code of School Behaviour, and have been agreed upon and endorsed by our staff, P&C.
