Munch n Crunch at Bororen State School

At Bororen State School, each day begins with connection, care, and a healthy start through our Munch n Crunch program.

Every morning, the whole school comes together to sit, share, and enjoy a nutritionally balanced breakfast. This dedicated time ensures that every student has access to fresh, healthy food in a supportive and inclusive environment.

What’s on the Menu?

Our students enjoy a variety of wholesome options each day, including:

  • High-protein foods such as eggs and yoghurt

  • Fresh fruit and crunchy vegetable sticks

  • Cereal and toasties

  • A range of fresh, healthy produce

All meals are designed to be nutritious, balanced, and appealing to students of all ages.

Why It Matters

A healthy breakfast plays a vital role in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing. By starting the day with nutritious food, students are better able to:

  • Concentrate in the classroom

  • Maintain energy levels throughout the day

  • Build healthy eating habits

  • Feel settled and ready to learn

Just as importantly, Munch n Crunch provides a calm and social start to the day, strengthening relationships and creating a strong sense of belonging across the school.

Making a Difference

The impact of Munch n Crunch has been significant. Staff have noticed improved focus, increased engagement in learning, and more positive interactions between students. For many children, it has become a favourite part of the day—a time where they feel supported, included, and cared for.

Supporting Our School Community

This valuable program is proudly funded by the Department of Families and Community, helping us ensure that every child at Bororen State School has access to a healthy start each day.

We are incredibly proud of our Munch n Crunch program and the positive difference it continues to make in the lives of our students.
